Our hotel doesn't really fit into a box. That's why we deliberately avoid a full-time program and full board, which might interrupt your explorations of the region early on. Instead, we tell you where we like to go, where we like to feast and hike, what we do and discover and what you shouldn't miss.

Hiking & biking

Unterhölzer Forest

Enjoy a view all the way to the Feldberg on this approx. 15 km long hike with good visibility. Highlights are the northernmost of the Hegau volcanoes, the "Wartenberg" and the nature reserve "Unterhölzer Wald" with its beautiful tree population. At the top of the Wartenberg is the "dream house", the Capuchin Hermitage belonging to Wartenberg Castle.

Wutach Gorge

The gorge along the Wutach is a true paradise for hikers. It is located in the heart of the Southern Black Forest Nature Park - the largest nature park in Germany. The region is characterized by its exciting primeval landscape with romantic gorges and beautiful forests.

Danube Cycle Route

The journey of the Danube begins in the neighboring town of Donaueschingen. Just the right place to cycle along the Danube towards the Black Sea. Follow the path through Fürstenberg Park to the confluence of the Danube, where it has long been said "Brigach and Breg bring the Danube to way." and on to the first village on the Danube, Pfohren.

Lake Kirnberg

The lake Kirnberg is surrounded by flower meadows and forests and thus offers nature and recreation for the visitors. Because of its warm water it is very popular as a bathing lake. The circular path around the lake invites you for a walk, but also as a hiker or cyclist you can plunge into the cool water after a strenuous tour.

Höwenegg Volcano- Danube Sinkhole

A crater has formed there as a result of basalt mining, in which a small, sparkling turquoise lake has formed. Höwenegg is also known for its special fossil finds. The 13 km long DonauWellen premium hiking trail "Donauversinkung" takes you through the nature reserve and at the same time you can experience the unique natural phenomenon of the Danube sinking. Here you can hike through the riverbed on around 200 days a year, as the Danube sinks completely between Immendingen and Möhringen for this time.

8 more or less extensive e-bike tours are waiting to be discovered by you. Whether the "Knöpfle-Tour", "Spätzle-Tour" or one of the other tours, they lead past small but historic old towns, interesting sights and great places to stop.

Day trip destinations

Lake Constance

Germany's largest lake in the border triangle of Germany, Switzerland and Austria has much to offer. Take a stroll along the lakeside promenades of Überlingen and Friedrichshafen, or visit the picturesque old towns of Meersburg and Constance. We also recommend the lidos in Bodman-Ludwigshafen and Wallhausen for sunny hours on the lake.

Rhine Falls Schaffhausen

The Rhine Falls offer visitors a magnificent natural spectacle: between 250 and 600 m3 of water plunge into the depths every second, depending on the season. As a visitor, you can explore the basin on foot or by boat with a round trip below the Rhine Falls.

Triberg waterfalls

Germany's highest waterfalls in Triberg are a very special attraction. The water of the Gutach plunges 163 m into the valley, foaming and roaring, in seven stages.

Lake Steißlingen

The natural bathing lake invites you to swim and linger with its brilliant turquoise green and excellent water quality. It offers enough shady places, a kiosk with terrace, a fenced off non-swimmer area, as well as a water playground for children.

Geisingen is the gateway to the Black Forest and thus opens up many excursion possibilities for you. Cities like Baden-Baden, Freiburg, Bad Säckingen or Pforzheim are always worth a visit. Or would you like a trip to the Titisee or Schluchsee? We certainly always have a good tip for you.

Please touch is written in capital letters here! The Mach mit! museum with interactive stations offers visitors young and old hands-on knowledge in the areas of science and technology, man and nature. Here, experiments can be carried out independently with curiosity and all the senses.

Sauschwänzle Railway

On the Sauschwäzle railway you will experience nostalgic flair surrounded by breathtaking nature. The route leads over 25 km from Blumberg-Zollhaus to Weizen through six tunnels and over four bridges, through the beautiful Wutach valley. In good weather, you can even see the Alps. Fun for families with children!

Whether with the family or just the two of you, Adventure Mini Golf is an experience for all ages. Idyllically located in the spa gardens in Bad Dürrheim on 18 modeled courses, it is bridges, heights and streams to play around. Previous experience is not required, fun and games are guaranteed!
